This domestic cleaning service operating in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town was started from scratch by the current owners in 2002. They have emphasised quality throughout and currently service around 60 households per week. All work is done under supervision.
Eighty percent of their business consists of contract work with homeowners. They advertise regularly in community newspapers and have signwriting on their two vehicles. Their staff are neatly attired in uniforms.
The business is operated with thorough contracting, checklists and supervision.
An asset list is available, detailing all the required cleaning equipment (ladders, steam cleaning equipment, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms etc). A 2005 KIA LDV forms part of the deal - the buyer will need to take over the lease which started in May 2005. The vehicle has a custom made canopy and seats and serves as transporter for the larger part of the cleaning team.
A valuable asset of the business is its thorough administrative system. This consists of documentation (contracts, letters etc) as well as a human resource management software package.
A full time supervisor is employed who drives a vehicle and supervises half the teams. The owner supervises the other half. There are 9 permanent staff members. Between 4 and 6 casuals are employed according to work load.
The owner is getting involved in other business ventures.
The business enjoys a good reputation and operates in a high income bracket residential area. The possibilities exist to continue at the same level or scale the business upward or downwards to suit the needs of the owner.
