Although a bit slower than previous years, property in this market is still appreciating by approximately 10% – 12% per annum. Paarl is renowned for its beautiful scenic setting in the centre of the winelands, its award winning wines, rich historic background and first-rate schools. It is also considered by many as a safe location, and since it is only a 40 minute drive from Cape Town’s city centre and airport; it is no surprise that recently the area has been experiencing an influx of families from big cities such as Pretoria, Johannesburg and Cape Town. Paarl proudly bears the title of the third-oldest town in South Africa.
