MOSSEL BAY
Sun-drenched, north facing beaches, outstanding coastal cuisine and the only working harbour for commercial as well as leisure craft in the Garden Route, makes Mossel Bay a veritable mecca for outdoor

In season, from June to November, the 65 km Whale Route along the greater Mossel Bay coastline is superbly suited to view whales. Four species are seen along this route, of which Southern Right Whales are the most commonly sighted when they come into Mossel Bay to calve. There are however also Humpback, Bryde's and Killer Whales frequenting the route.
With the ocean on its doorstep, the greater Mossel Bay offers an abundance of other marine life. Seal Island in the bay are home to a breeding colony of hundreds of seals and their cubs. They can be viewed during an island cruise or even from land.
Schools of up to 500 dolphins make a spectacular sight and can often be seen at play in the bay and along the St Blaize hiking trail.
Experience the charm of Mossel Bay harbour and watch whales, dolphins and seals at play in the bay from a yacht during the one hour Harbour Tour. Mossel Bay have a long standing association with fishing of both the sports and commercial varieties.
Ski-boats, deep-sea fishing boats and other vessels make the most of the bounties of this part of the Indian Ocean.
